Outcome CommentThe Vietnam War Commemoration Advisory Committee provided advice on increasing the exposure of the Commemoration with public and private entities across the nation. They recommended that the Commemoration develop a strategy to anticipate larger/significant events, partnering with veteran service organizations to identify significant dates for their organization/ membership over the next 2-5 years. With the Committee's advice, the Vietnam War Commemoration staff is developing a long-range events calendar which will help predict requirements for support and enable early engagement to help expand recognition of the Commemoration and increase the effectiveness of the event to reach Vietnam veterans and their families. The Committee also recommended that we encourage Commemorative Partners to celebrate service before self rather that asking them (often Vietnam veterans or similar in age) to celebrating ourselves [Vietnam veterans] and that the success and professionalism of today's Armed Forces is an example of the legacy of Vietnam. Speakers for the Commemoration staff have incorporated these sentiments into their speech templates.Number Of Grants Recommended0
