How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The Senior Advisor for Environmental Management directs the Board to provide input, advice, and recommendations on various programmatic issues. In addition, the Board seeks assistance and input from stakeholder representatives and technical consultants.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The full Board meets semi-annually or as deemed appropriate by the Senior Advisor. In FY 2022, EMAB held two virtual public meetings. During full Board meetings, proposed recommendations to the Senior Advisor are discussed and agreed upon in an open, public forum. These meetings also provide an opportunity for private citizens and other interested audiences that are not members of the Board to understand issues relevant to the EM program.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*EMAB is the advisory body charged with providing advice and recommendations directly to the Senior Advisor on corporate issues related to the entire EM program. These issues include, but are not limited to: project management and oversight activities, cost/benefit analyses, program performance, human capital development, science and technology, and contracts and acquisition strategies.
