How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The Committee was responsive to specific assignments made by the Designated Federal Officer (DFO). The Committee considered matters proposed by the DFO and attempted to reach consensus. The Committee defined consensus for its deliberations.
How is membership balanced?*Committee membership consisted of 9 members. Non-Federal Members: To ensure fair and balanced representation of viewpoints, the Secretary appointed 5 members nominated by the Osage Tribe, acting through the Osage Minerals Council.Federal Members: The Secretary appointed four Federal employees (two from BIA, one from the Bureau of Land Management, and one from the Office of Natural Resources Revenue).
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The Committee met approximately 4-6 times annually, and at such other times as designated by the DFO.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*The Committee advised the Secretary through the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) on a proposed rule to revise 25 C.F.R. Part 226 in order to improve the management and administration of the Osage Mineral Estate. The Committee acted solely in an advisory capacity to the BIA.
Why close or partially close meetings?N/A
Recommendation RemarksThe Committee successfully accomplished its stated objectives. As a result, the Department of the Interior did not renew the charter and the Committee terminated on August 15, 2014.
No meetings were held in FY 2014.

The staff addressed the Committee's Proposed Rule recommendations and ensured they were published in the Federal Register for comments.
