How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The Committee had two meetings in this fiscal year. However, the final report of the committee was compiled and distributed in Spring 2001.
How is membership balanced?*Membership was prescribed by the statute. At least five of the members are persons who are highly qualified in the medical arts, have experience in setting healthcare standards, and possess a demonstrated understanding of the military healthcare system and its unique mission requirements. The remaining members are persons who are current beneficiaries of the Miilitary Health System.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*In fiscal years 1999-2000, the committee met monthly. The final two meetings were held in FY 2001.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*Committee is necessary to assess whether or not all reasonable measures have been taken to ensure that the Military Health System delivers healthcare services in accordance with consistently high professional standards.
