Committee Detail

Note: An Annual Comprehensive Review, as required by §7 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, is conducted each year on committee data entered for the previous fiscal year (referred to as the reporting year). The data for the reporting year is not considered verified until this review is complete and the data is moved to history for an agency/department. See the Data From Previous Years section at the bottom of this page for the committee’s historical, verified data.

Details on agency responses to committee recommendations can be found under the Performance Measures section for each committee in the fields “Agency Feedback” and “Agency Feedback Comment.”

How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The Committee assists the OMB Director in carrying out the duties of the Director under part D of subchapter III of chapter 35 of title 44, which concerns access to data for evidence; evaluates and provides recommendations to the Director on how to facilitate data sharing, enables data linkage, and develops privacy enhancing techniques; and reviews the coordination of data sharing or availability for evidence building across all agencies. The Committee submitted the Year 1 Report to the Director and made publicly available an annual report on the activities and findings of the Committee on October 29, 2021.
How is membership balanced?*The Committee has a balanced membership, by considering such factors as geography, technical expertise, community involvement, and knowledge of programs and/or activities related to ACDEB. Individuals will be selected based on their expertise or experience in specific areas as needed by ACDEB. The diverse membership of the Committee assures expertise reflecting the full breadth of the Committee’s responsibilities, and, where possible, the Department of Commerce will also consider the ethnic, racial, and gender diversity and various abilities of the United States population.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The Committee continues to keep meetings more timely due to the relevant information sharing. Meetings were expected to occur a minimum of three times per year, with the possibility of additional meetings as the Chair may determine.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*The work of the committee is essential because the Evidence Act states that the Committee will review, analyze, and make recommendations on how to promote the use of Federal data for evidence building.
Why close or partially close meetings?NA
Recommendation RemarksThese will be listed on www.bea.gov/evidence when available.
