How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The Council provides information and advice regarding the development and implementation of the Recreation Area Management Plan.
How is membership balanced?*This Council is composed of 7 members, representing Emery County Commission; motorized rec users; non-motorized rec users; grazing permittees within the Rec Area or wilderness areas designated; conservation organizations; expertise in the historical uses of the Recreation Area; and an elected leader of a federally recognized tribe that has significant cultural or historic connections to, and expertise in, the landscape, archeological sites, or cultural sites within the County.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The Council will meet approximately 3 times per year. The council will continue to hold meetings according to CDC guidelines concerning COVID and COVID Variants.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*The committee makeup is diverse and represents recreation as well as a variety of other interests. This committee will increase collaboration with local partners, counties, Tribes, and the public. It will also increase collaboration with Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration, a large landowner within the recreation area.
