How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The primary purpose of the Board is to bring members' expertise to bear on the major financial, strategic, marketing and operational issues affecting NTIS' ability to meet the needs of its customers. To accomplish this purpose, the Board meets two times each year with senior NTIS staff to review and discuss current developments and plans for future endeavors. The Board provides advice on a broad range of NTIS issues, including pricing, review products and services, and strategic objectives.
How is membership balanced?*	By law, members of the Board are to be experienced in using or providing technical information. Each Board member is directly involved in one or both of these activities at a senior level in his/ her organization.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The Board would generally meet two times a year that allows NTIS to address market changes and stay relevant and competitive. Given that NTIS primarily works in a fast-changing technology space, it is important to receive market updates from the advisory board members twice a year. To ensure timely participation, NTIS has adopted a hybrid participation model that allows advisory board members to attend in-person or remotely by mitigating scheduling conflicts due to travel.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	Through the Board, NTIS has the opportunity to gain consistent advice and guidance from independent, customer centered individuals who are familiar with NTIS and who have expertise in both, technical information and business operations. This seems to be precisely the role for which an advisory board is ideally suited.
