How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The MAC typically meets 2-4 times a year.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*The diversity and strength of knowledge, passion and political connections possessed by this committee is second to none. They are an invaluable resource to the SJINM. Additionally, the designating language of the monumument requires that such a committee be created to assist the agency through the resource management planning process.
Why close or partially close meetings? All meetings are open to the public.
Recommendation RemarksConsistent with Executive Order 14217, Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy, the Advisory Committee was terminated by Secretary Burgum on February 27, 2025.

The BLM Oregon/Washington State Director signed the Monument’s Record of Decision approving the RMP on January 26, 2023, and the Notice of Availability was subsequently published on January 31, 2023, in the Federal Register. The Department of the Interior determined that the MAC has accomplished its Presidential purpose to provide information and advice regarding the development of the RMP. The MAC charter was terminated on December 7, 2023, and renewed under discretionary Agency authority on September 9, 2024. Upon the charter’s expiration, the 12 members’ terms automatically terminated.
