How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee (ARAC) accomplishes its purpose by holding four meetings a year discuss taskings, review recommendations, and working group status reports. Minutes are taken at these meetings and are part of the public record.
How is membership balanced?*	The FAA balances ARAC membership by considering key aviation stakeholder groups to include associations and organizations. Members represent organizations directly and indirectly impacted by FAA regulations (e.g., aircraft owners and operators, airmen and flight crewmembers, organizations representing airports, maintenance providers, manufacturers, public citizen and passenger groups, and training providers).
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The ARAC met four times in FY 2024; December 14, 2023; March 21, 2024; June 13, 2024; and September 26, 2024. The committee discussed recommendation reports and provided status updates.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	Due to the restrictions placed on regulatory agencies by the Administrative Procedure Act, the agency cannot solicit the advice of its affected public prior to issuing regulatory proposals unless it goes through the public-meeting process or establishes a formal advisory body. The ARAC includes members representing virtually every interest that could conceivably be affected by agency rulemaking (including the general public), thus enabling the agency to obtain vital input before it publishes a proposal.

Recommendation Remarks	We updated the "Specific Establishment Authority" and the "Effective Date of Authority." The Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee charter was renewed on September 14, 2024. Membership: The committee has 8 new appointed members, 13 reappointments, and 4 members that rotated off the committee. The following members terms have ended on the committee. Gail Dunham, Daniel Friedenzohn, Michelle Betcher, and Tom Charpentier. The following members was reappointed to the committee and their appointment end date reflects this change. Justin Barkowski, Douglas Carr, Walter Desrosier, Stéphane Flori, Paul Hudson, Randy Kenagy, Sarah MacLeod, Christopher Martino, Keith Morgan, David Oord, George Paul, Ric Peri, and Larry Rooney. Member Clay Ambrose retired, in December 2023. The ARAC Training Standardization Working Group has completed its work and will not be assigned work after FY 24.

Agency Feedback Comment*	When a recommendation is received from the advisory committee, the FAA provides an acknowledgement letter to the Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee (ARAC) Chairperson. The FAA also provides the ARAC with updates on FAA actions on recommendations at the committee’s public meetings.
