How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*Prior to its termination, the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) Science Advisory Board (SAB) advised the Director in establishing, implementing and evaluating the research programs that assisted the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in fulfilling regulatory responsibilities. This external body of recognized scientific experts helped to ensure that the research programs at NCTR were scientifically sound and pertinent to the FDA, but we have determined that it is no longer needed, and the purpose of this committee can be met by the Science Board to the FDA.
How is membership balanced?*Members were leading authorities in the fields related to toxicological research. Members represented academia, clinical research, and other scientific disciplines.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The committee did not meet in FY-24 due to its termination.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*The committee is no longer needed and has been terminated since May 28, 2024
Why close or partially close meetings? There were no open or closed meetings to report for FY24.
