How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The International Space Station (ISS) Advisory Committee was established by the NASA Administrator and reports to the NASA Administrator. The Committee makes observations related to the safety and operational readiness of the ISS. The Committee conducts joint fact-finding meetings with its counterpart international advisory review group, the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) Advisory Expert Council. These meetings may include reviews of ISS expeditions.
How is membership balanced?*	The Committee consists of 6 to 12 voting members. Membership is comprised of experts in disciplines that permit the assessment of any aspect of the ISS program.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The Committee meets approximately two times a year or as required by the NASA Associate Administrator for Space Operations Mission Directorate to fulfill its responsibilities.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	The NASA Administrator determined that it is in the public interest in connection with the performance of Agency duties under law. The Committee conducts independent or joint meetings with counterpart international advisory review groups, including the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) Advisory Expert Council. There is unique insight, expertise and experience on the part of the Committee members, and unique access to Russian counterparts.
