How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The Advisory Council (AC), in fulfilling its responsibility to advance the IAF’s statutory purposes, may engage in the following and other similar activities: A. Provide counsel to the Board of Directors (Board) regarding the IAF’s programs and activities; B. Help disseminate the lessons learned by the IAF and its grantee partners; C. Establish links between the IAF and other individuals and entities to advance the IAF’s mission.
How is membership balanced?*	The Advisory Council shall be comprised of at least 12 distinguished U.S. or Latin American citizens who are knowledgeable about development in the Western Hemisphere, representing as many of the following sectors as possible: i.private voluntary organizations; ii. business and labor communities; iii. higher education and research community; and iv. community leaders.

Recommendation Remarks	Member start dates reflect their individual service prior to the establishment of the chartered committee under FACA. It is standard practice that former Board chairs are given lifetime appointments to the Advisory Council. Roger W. Wallace, Kay Arnold, Anita Perez-Ferguson and John Salazar are all former Board chairs who were given lifetime Advisory Council appointments.
