How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI) accomplishes its purpose by holding at least one meeting per year where the committee members meet and discuss topics of importance presented to them by the Food Safety and Inspection Service.
How is membership balanced?*The membership of the National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI) is balanced by ensuring that all stakeholders have representation on the committee through the appointment of members from the following groups: academia, industry, state/local government, public health, consumer and consumer organizations. Membership of this Committee is also balanced in terms of both expertise in meat and poultry safety, public health, other FSIS policies, as well as geographic diversity.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*Estimated Number of Meetings per Year - The committee generally meets once a year to discuss and make recommendations on topics designated by the Agency. The committee receives updates on topics from previous years to show how recommendations have been implemented.
