How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	Review, coordinate and monitor plans and programs in the public and private sector for veterans to obtain capitol and credit, and to access markets. Promote the collection of business information and survey data, monitor and promote plans, programs and operations of Departments and Agencies of the United States, develop and promote initiatives, policies, programs and plans to foster veterans small businesses and, in cooperation with the National Veterans Business Development Corporation , develop a comprehensive plan, updated annually, for joint public-private efforts to facilitate growth and development of veterans small businesses. The Committee may hold hearings, take testimony, receive evidence, and request information from the head of any department agency of the United States.
How is membership balanced?*	15 members shall be appointed by the SBA Administrator, eight of whom shall be veterans who are small business owners, and seven shall be representatives of veterans orgranizations. No more than eight from the same political party and no federal employee can serve. Terms are for three years, except initially, six shall be for four years and five for five years. The Committee elects their Chair.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs shall meet not less than three times per year. There were three virtual meetings and one in person ACVBA meetings for FY-23-FY24. (Dec FY23, Mar FY24, June FY24, Sept, FY24). The purpose of these meetings is to discuss efforts that support veteran-owned small businesses, updates on past and current events, and the ACVBA’s objectives for the next fiscal year.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	To provide technical, financial, and procurement assistance to veteran owned small businesses, and for other purposes.
