How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The Advisory Committee Meeting is organized and facilitated on topics in two specific areas: COV and general advice. The Advisory Committee receives COV reports in advance of the meeting, discusses the reports at the meeting, recommends adjustments, and approves the report. General advice and information is provided on a variety of topics including Director's special issues, NSF and ENG budgets, ENG Programs, and NSF initiatives.
How is membership balanced?*	An effort is made to select members who are senior engineering leaders in academe, industry, government and includes members of different geographic regions and underrepresented minorities.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The full committee meets twice annually with COV meetings held in accordance with a planned schedule. Each meeting is focused on major issues of interest to the Directorate and the engineering community.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	The programs and policies of the NSF Engineering Directorate are very specific and the Advisory Committee membership is constituted to provide informed advice on these programs.
