How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The committee provides perspective and advice to the National Science Foundation on the agency's plans and programatic strategies to develop and support a state-of-the-art cyberinfrastructure that enables significant advances in fields of science and engineering. Advise the NSF on program content, overall program balance, and other aspects of program performance. Advise as to the impact of overall NSF-wide policies on the science and engineering community.
How is membership balanced?*	Members will represent a range of scientific and engineering fields supported by NSF, and will be appointed with terms of three to five years. Every effort will be made to achieve a diverse representation, including members from underrepresented groups, academic and private sector organizations, as well as different geographic regions of the U.S.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	2 recurring meetings biannually and 1 additional Committee of Visitors review meeting quadrennially.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	The committee will provide important contact with the science and engineering community impacted by the agency’s cyberinfrastructure portfolio. The advice sought by the agency is not avaialable from other sources.

Narrative Description*	The NSF mission as stated in the NSF Act of 1950 authorizes and directs the Agency to initiate and support: fundamental research in science and engineering; and science and engineering education programs at all levels and in all fields of science and engineering. The ACCI provides advice to OAC and the National Science Foundation regarding general relating to the operation and management of the Foundation, with regard to advanced Science and Engineering research in cyberinfrastructure.
