How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The TEPAC's purpose is to advise and provide information to USTR on issues concerning trade policy and the environment.
How is membership balanced?*	The TEPAC shall consist of not more than 35 members, including but not limited to representatives from environmental interest groups, industry (including the environment technology and environmental services industries), agriculture, services, non-federal governments, and consumer interests. The TEPAC shall be broadly representative of key sectors and groups of the economy with an interest in trade and environment policy issues.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The committee will meet as needed at the call of the U.S. Trade Representative or his/her designee, depending on various factors such the level of activity of trade negotiations and the needs of the members of the TEPAC.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	TEPAC members are uniquely authorized to access trade sensitive and classified information to provide USTR with advice.
Why close or partially close meetings?	In order to receive the most informed advice possible the advisory committee members are regularly briefed on U.S. strategies and bargaining positions. (this information that is typically trade sensitive and often classified).
