How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	Provides advice and recommendations to the NSF Director on the Foundation's response to the reporting mandate set forth in the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) of 1993. The committee focuses on issues related to the Foundation's strategic outcome goals and especially on their associated indicators. Assessment activities are based on an OMB-approved alternative reporting format that utilizes external expert panels for qualitative, retrospective evaluations of Foundation results for its outcomes. Also included is a prospective assessment that addresses the long-term impact of annual investment portfolios. All activities are guided by NSF's GPRA Strategic Plan and the Performance Budget. Reporting and assessment are conducted at the Foundation level. Provide NSF with a report - based on internal documents and external studies and evaluations - for use in annual GPRA/PART reporting by the Foundation.Advise NSF on GPRA planning, procedures and assessment as they relate to the Foundation's long-term strategic outcome goals.

The committee also advises NSF on a variety of GPRA related issues.
