How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The committee accomplished its purpose by participating in a Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) meeting. For the meeting, the RAC reviewed educational data from the region and public comments received and deliberated and made recommendations about the critical education needs of the region and discussed how those needs can most effectively be addressed through technical assistance activities.
How is membership balanced?*The membership was balanced per the Educational Technical Assistance Act of 2002. The member composition is mandated by Title II, Sec. 203 of the ETAA of 2002, §9605.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*One open RAC meeting was held. The meeting focused on reviewing and deliberating on the educational data and needs assessment for the region.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*The Regional Advisory Committees are authorized by the Educational Technical Assistance Act of 2002 (ETAA) (Pub. L. 107-279; 20 U.S.C. 9605); 5 U.S.C. 301; Pub. L. 95–521, Ethics in Government Act of 1978; Pub. L. 101–194, Ethics Reform Act of 1989, as amended; and Executive Orders 12674, 12565, and 11222, as amended.  The Regional Advisory Committees are also governed by the provisions of 5 U.S.C. Chapter 10 (Federal Advisory Committees).

Recommendation RemarksThe objective of the Committee is to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Education (Secretary) regarding the educational needs of one of the ten regions served by the Regional Educational Laboratories (RELs) for input regarding technical assistance activities described in Section 203 of the Educational Technical Assistance Act (ETAA) and how those needs would be most effectively addressed.
