Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	It is the opinion of the Georgia District Office senior management that this committee is no longer necessary. When specific issues come up for which outside input would be helpful, we informally poll the appropriate resource partners and constituents for feedback on that issue. We can achieve the same results or better without the investment of staff time and effort to support the operations of a formally chartered District Advisory Council.

Recommendation Remarks	Due to decreases in staffing to support this function and having other informal means to obtain feedback from Georgia's small business community, I recommend termination of the Georgia DAC. There has been no meetings since FY 2005.

Narrative Description*	The original intent of the Georgia District Advisory Council was to support the improvement of the economic environment for small business in Georgia and the optimal efficiency and effectiveness of SBA program delivery in Georgia. This was accomplished through the Georgia DAC's input and advice on the small business issues and needs affecting the state's small businesses and how the SBA Georgia District Office could best meet them with the Agency's programs and services.
