How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	FY 2003 - The Advisory Commission's purpose, to complete the Backcountry and Wilderness Management Plan, is sucessfully done.The primary focus of the Commission has been to advise the Secretary of the Interior through the park Superintendent about the development and implementation of the park's Backcountry and Wilderness Management Plan, which serves as an amendment to the park's General Management Plan. The Committee has provided feedback and recommendations to the National Park Service.
How is membership balanced?*	Commission members represent the tourism industry, off-road vehicle community, climbing interests, mining, home owners, business owners, Native American community, county government and conservation organizations.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The Commission met twice a year.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	The committee has completed the work for which it was authorized - to advise on the development of the General Management Plan
Why close or partially close meetings?	All meetings are open and announced through the Federal Register and local and regional media.
Recommendation Remarks	(1) Re #6 (EXPECTED CHARTER RENEWAL DATE) -- The FACA Section 14 (b) biennial rechartering requirement has been waived for this Commission by P.L. 102-525, October 26, 1992. (2) Re MEMBERSHIP -- In accordance with the commission Charter and P.L. 102-525, members may continue to serve after the expiration of their terms until successors are appointed.
