How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The full committee generally meets twice a year and four subcommittees (public involvement, engineering, transportation/visitor use and socioeconomic) have been established to work with the project teams to formulate advice to be brought before the full committee for deliberation.
How is membership balanced?*	The committee membership comprises diverse expertise and backgrounds reflecting the various interest concerned with the rehabilitation of the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The representation on the committee is as follows: Blackfeet Nation(1), Confederated Salish-Kootenai Tribes (1), local government (2), State of Montana (1), local business (4), state and national tourism (1), national environmental organization (1), historic preservation organization (1), engineering (1), economics (1), Canada - tourism and business (2), and at large (1).
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	Two meetings per year are planned for the duration of the Advisory Committee.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	Public Law 105-277 appropriated funds for the project and House Report 105-825 expressed the intent of Congress that use of those funds include a Citizens Advisory Committee with which the National Park Service could consult in making decisions regarding the Going-to-the-Sun Road rehabilitation.
Why close or partially close meetings?	The meetings are open to the public.
Recommendation Remarks	Re MEMBERSHIP -- In accordance with the committees charter, members may continue to serve after the expiration date of their terms until successors are appointed.
