How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The Committee will provide input from producers who rely upon federal crop insurance and other USDA programs to manage risk, our partners in the insurance industry, and others.
How is membership balanced?*	No members selected to date.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	No meetings to date. The Committee is required to meet at least once a year or as often as the Secretary of Agriculture deems necessary.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	This Committee will fill an important role of giving specific advice and guidance for individual programs necessary to provide a farm safety net for all producers. The input that is desired would be broad direction for future program development including the role of crop insurance in major disasters.
Why close or partially close meetings?	N/A
Recommendation Remarks	On June 20, 2000 the Agricultural Risk Protection Act of 2000 was enacted which expanded the role of the private sector on the Board of Directors of the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation. Based on the additional private sector involvement in the program, Secretary Veneman has decided that the advisory committee is no longer required.
