How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The Iditarod Advisory Council was rechartered in FY 97 specifically for the purpose of allowing the council to develop plans to incorporate as a nonprofit trail organization following termination as a council. The four meetings they had in FY 98 were used to write Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws for the new nonprofit. Council terminated Nov. 10, 1998.
How is membership balanced?*	This council included Alaska Native individuals, mushers and other trail users, state and federal representatives with trail management responsibilities, private landowners along the trail corridor, and the public-at-large.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	The meetings were held about every three months. This gave the council time to work on revisions of the Articles and Bylaws between council meetings.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	These individuals are a valuable cross-section of Alaskans with a stake in how this historic trail is managed. Their participation as a council, and in the future as a nonprofit foundation, has and will continue to help BLM manage the trail for its historic, cultural, and recreational values.
Why close or partially close meetings?	No meetings were closed.
