How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*	The Committee provides information and advice regarding development of the Bears Ears National Monument management plans and, as appropriate, management of the Monument to the Secretary of the Interior, through the Director of BLM, and the Secretary of Agriculture through the Chief of the U.S. Forest Service as stated in the Presidential Proclamation establishing the Monument.
How is membership balanced?*	The Committee consists of 15 members appointed by the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture from the following broad spectrum of interests to ensure balanced membership: San Juan County; state government; paleontology; archaeology; environment; grazing; tribal interests; developed outdoor recreation; dispersed recreation; private landowners; local business owners; and the public at large.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*	Committee meetings are very relevant to the BLM as the members discussed the implementation of the Bears Ears National Monument Management Plan and made recommendations to the Designated Federal Officer. Meetings are typically held 2-4 times per year.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*	Presidential Proclamation 9558 as modified by Presidential Proclamation 9681 establishing the Bears Ears National Monument also required the establishment of a FACA chartered advisory committee to provide information and advice regarding development of the management plan and, as appropriate, management of the monument.
Why close or partially close meetings?	Meetings are open to the public.
Recommendation Remarks	The Committee did not meet in FY25. A meeting was scheduled for December 9, 2024, but was subsequently cancelled.
