How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The Council will serve in an advisory capacity concerning the issues relating to land use planning or the management of the public land resources located within the State of Idaho. The Council also makes recommendations regarding standard amenity recreation fees and expanded amenity recreation fees to the BLM and U.S. Forest Service.
How is membership balanced?*This RAC is composed of 15 members, representing 3 categories: commodity, non-commodity, and local area interest. Each category has 5 members.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The RAC generally meets 2-4 times per year.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*The purpose of the RAC is to enable citizens of Idaho to have a meaningful say in how public lands are managed for multiple use. The RAC provides advice on a broad array of resource, economic and social issues that confront land managers and local communities. The local stakeholders provide important perspective on how public lands can be best managed for the benefit of the American people.
