How does cmte accomplish its purpose?*The BPAC recommendations and analysis will be used to inform decisions on the programmatic scope and priorities, as well as the implementation of biological and physical sciences programs. In addition, the BPAC will provide a regular forum for broad discussion of biological and physical sciences and the role of biological and physical sciences within and outside of NASA.
How is membership balanced?*The BPAC will have 13-15 members consisting of a mix of biological and physical science disciplines, from the broad community of academia, industry, government, and the commercial sector. The Biological and Physical Sciences Division Director shall ensure a balanced representation in terms of the points of view represented and the functions to be performed. It is expected the membership balance is not static, and the expertise or experience relevant to the mission/function of the BPAC may change over time depending on the work of the committee.
How frequent & relevant are cmte mtgs?*The BPAC shall meet two to four times a year or as required by the Director, Biological and Physical Sciences Division.
Why advice can't be obtained elsewhere?*There is no equivalent advisory group established for the specific purpose of providing findings and recommendations pertaining to space-related biological and physical sciences.
Why close or partially close meetings?There are no plans to close or partially close meetings.
